A popular New Year’s resolution bobbing around appears to be “blog more.” WAHOO! More blogging! Delightful! Unfortunately, inspiration can, at times, crash into a fickle little mood and lock itself in its messy little bedroom, shutting little ‘ol you out completely. What then? How can you stay loyal to your innocent resolutions?

With my fresh January Book Blogging Prompts, naturally! See here:Read More »

Bookish Characters for President! (We Make Fun of Donald Trump a Lot)

Hillary Clinton → Lia from The Naturals.

Hillary Clinton’s track record? Not exactly perfect with the cell phones and emails and the etc. So the whole honesty thing? Not her best feature. Ergo, the bookish character to take her place would be Lia from The Naturals, our favorite pathological liar. With her liberal views and her loyalty, those two are practically twins!

Bernie Sanders → Dumbledore from the Harry Potter books.

THE TWO ARE BASICALLY THE SAME.

Bernie? Let’s fix the world (or at least America)! Dumbledore? Let’s fix the world and stop Voldemort! See any difference? Neither do I.

There’s even a Name that Quote: Bernie or Dumbledore Edition. That’s how hard it is to tell them apart. They are the same persons. Just slap a beard on Sanders.

Jeb Bush → Adam from Shatter Me.

Nobody loves Adam. Nobody truly hates him either. He’s boring. He’s low energy. He doesn’t quite excite.

Ahem. Sound familiar?

Ted Cruz → Matthew from Anne of Green Gables.

Do they have anything in common? Hardly. BUT. They were both born in Canada.

So.

Ha.

Marco Rubio → Frank from Since You’ve Been Gone.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Marco Rubio? Pristine-debater-dad-person. Obviously. What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Frank? Pristine-debater-person. Close enough.

Also, I thought it would be hilarious to see a Presidential candidate next to a fluffy book cover with tumblr girls. So there’s that.

Donald Trump → Donald Trump.

There is no one like this man, fictional or not. Thank Goodness.

It’s the puncutation that gets me.

Ok but tbh me as a presidential candidate.

What political-bookish relations currently full your satirical little mind? Who are you voting for?

Most Likely To… | Bookish Edition [TAG]

From Yearbooks to middle school slumber parties, everyone has tried to decide who they know is most to succeed, get arrested, etc.

It’s time for the bookish version.

Since I’ve never seen this before, I thought it might be fun to turn this into a tag. So here’s how it’s going to work:

1. Put 18 book characters into a jar and shake it up.

2. Have the first three most likely to… categories ready. Pick three names from the jar and apply them to the first three categories.

3. Keep going until you have none left!

Round One

The Most Likely Tos:

1. Get arrested (going straight for the cliches)

2. Cry in a movie

3. Have kids first.

The characters:

Warner from the Shatter Me series

Cather Avery from Fangirl

Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series.

Well. Okay. Since she already has a record, We’re going to put Celaena in the get arrested category. Since I think Cath would be the most likely to have kids first, maybe after her first best-selling novel, I’ll put her there. Which leaves Warner for the crying during the movie. Which I can actually see. Which is actually completely hilarious.

Round Two:

4. Become a multi-millionaire

5. Write a best-selling book

6. Give all their money to charity.

The characters:

Reyna from Heroes of Olympus

Sharzhad from The Wrath and the Dawn

Cress from the Lunar Chronicles

With Reyna’s powerful personality, I can see her as a snazzy businesswoman who becomes a multi-millionaire. Sharzhad has a strong sense of justice, so I can see her giving all her money to charity. Cress is already a genius with all her hacker skills, and with her interesting past she could certainly write a fascinating book!

Round Three:

7. Join a cult

8. Beat Donal Trump in a presidential election

9. Be a closet nerd

The characters:

Four from Divergent

Raffe from the End of Days trilogy

Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses

WOW. Oh my gosh. Rhysand is totally a closet nerd. I can totally picture him being all buff and manly in public and then returning to his little home and having a Star Wars marathon. OH MY WORD THAT’S FUNNY.

Four could totally run for president. I just hope he doesn’t kill Donald Trump in the process. As for Rafee, I can see him in a little fallen angels cult.

Round Four:

10. Have the most piercings

11. Get a stalker, or have a stalker or whatever

12. Open an orphanage

The characters:

Isabelle Lightwood from the Mortal Insturments

Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson books

The Darkling from the Grisha trilogy

First of all, the Darkling’s probably going to have a stalker because it’s probably going to be me. Just making that clear.

Isabelle Lightwood will definitely be the one with the most piercings, and I can certainly see Annabeth opening up an orphanage with Percy!

Round Five:

13. Become an actress

14. Join a gang

15. Open a bakery

The characters:

Han Allister from the Seven Realms series

Rowan from Heir of Fire

Effie from the Hunger Games

EFFIE WOULD BE AN AMAZING ACTRESS. Hollywood would be a fantastic place for her! As for the gang, I can’t see Han going back to his old ways, but I can sort of see Rowan joining the dark side, just not for long. I can see Han settling down and opening up a bakery with his tiny little children. Aw, it’s all too sweet. 🙂

Round Six:

16. Go Christmas caroling

17. Go through a goth phase

18. Murder someone

The characters:

Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter books

Sam Cortland from The Assassin’s Blade

Will Herondale from the Infernal Devices.

Crap, this is hard. See, Sam is an assassin. Was an assassin. *sobs* So, he’s got to be the one most likely to murder someone. Draco through a goth phase? That is hilarious, and I can totally see that.

And of course, Will would to Christmas caroling. Because he’s hilarious and perfect and beautiful. I’m not sure if those count as reasons, but we’re going with that either way.

I’ll tag:

Analee @ Book Snacks

Josie @ Josie’s Book Corner

Anjie @ Love Thy Shelf

Carolyn @ A Hundred Thousand Stories

Silanur @ Aloof Books

Dimple @ Enthralling Dimple

Maren @ The Worn Bookmark

Summer @ Xing Sings

Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books

And anyone else who wants to give it a try, it’s an insane amount of fun!
